Abstract:

A simple analytical approach for constructing one-sided upper tolerance limits is proposed for longitudinal data with repeated measurements. The approach is based on an approximation of the non central t distribution and mixed model theory. Simulation study of longitudinal data with AR(1) covariance structure is conducted. The proposed tolerance limits are compared to the ones that are based on simple linear regression analysis (SLR), where the correlation among data due to repeated measurement is ignored. The calculation of the proposed tolerance limit is illustrated by Holstein steers data.
