Abstract:

We will compare several different features of Bayesian borrowing of information in device trials, including the incorporation of historical data and the borrowing of information within a single trial through hierarchical modeling. We will compare and contrast these Bayesian methods to frequentist counterparts and include the effect of these Bayesian methods on the frequentist properties (type I error and power) on the resulting trial designs.
