Abstract:

Let X(1),X(2),..,X(n) are n independent and identically distributed absolutely continuous (with respect to Lebesgue measure) random variables. Suppose X(1,n) < X(2,n)< ...,X(n,n) are the corresponding ordered statistics. Various distributional propeties of X(i,n), i=1,2,...,n when the X's are from logistic distribution are given. Based on these distributional properties several characterization of Logistic distribution are given.
