Abstract:
|
In functional and longitudinal data analysis, there are various factors that might determine the quality of the outcomes. In this talk, we will discuss similarities as well as differences between handling functional and longitudinal data. Issues such as the choices of basis functions, model selection and accommodating heterogeneity features in the data will be addressed. We will illustrate our findings through analysis of simulated and field data sets. Part of the work is joinly done with RJ Carroll, Y. Li and JH Zhou.
