Abstract:

In the present paper, we introduce a class of nonparametric two-sample tests based on a new semi-sequential sampling scheme. An existing partially sequential or semi-sequential procedure based on inverse sampling scheme, pioneered by Wolfe (1977) and Orban and Wolfe (1980), is modified in the light of random sequential sampling techniques, proposed by Mukhopadhyay and De-Silva (2008).

Our proposed modification is motivated from a practical situation arise in geological field experiment. We discuss in detail the statistical methodologies and some asymptotic results. Numerical results based on Monte-Carlo are provided to justify asymptotic theory. Some power performances against fixed alternative are studied. We also provide an illustrative example with Arsenic contamination data.
