The business environment values different skills from those we learn and most value as statisticians. This disconnect can make it difficult for statisticians to succeed in business, especially those who are working in environments where statisticians are not critical to the success of the business. Strategies helpful to thrive in such environments without losing one's identity as a statistician will be discussed.
