Abstract:
|
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in United States and the third leading cause for cancer death in the Western world. The number of elderly patients with colorectal cancer is expected to be growing as a result of the overall aging population and the cancer incidence and mortality rise as age increases. In this study, we identify colorectal cancer patients and obtain cost of different treatments including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy using Medicare data.
