Abstract:

The Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) education group of the Colorado Clinical Translational Science Institute (CCTSI), with the Colorado Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), has developed and executed a one year, monthly seminar series to promote biostatistical literacy among clinical and laboratory researchers at the University of Colorado Denver. We will present the goals of the series; development of the topics; determination of the target audience; implementation and promotion strategies, accessibility, including a multimedia approach; evaluation method and results; and the continual need for adaptation. We will encourage an active group discussion of these topics and any thoughts regarding statistical literacy education brought by the attendees. The goal of this roundtable is to engage in an exchange of ideas that will be beneficial to all present.
