Abstract:

In many academic fields it is common to ask several judges to review a set of candidate proposals. The judges give ratings independently to evaluate the quality of these proposals. It is then of interest to see if the judges reach a consensus on the quality of proposals. This paper examines the inter-rater reliability of a rating dataset. Several measurements are made to assess the extent to which judges agree with each other. The measurements include the allocations of different ratings, the number of ratings two judges agree on, Spearman's rank correlation coefficients and Kendall's coefficient of concordance W. Kendall's W is computed to get the overall concordance for the 10 judges.
