Abstract:

When calculating conditional power for sample size re-estimation at an interim analysis, the test statistic for the final analysis can be for a non-stratified analysis or for a stratified analysis. This paper discussed the method for the situation where stratified analysis is more appropriate for sample size re-estimation at an interim analysis. We have applied this method to a randomized phase 3 trial for the adjuvant treatment of a solid tumor cancer comparing an experimental drug with placebo.
