Abstract:

Toxicologists are often confronted with studies in with multiple stressors and multiple responses. Using a multivariate dose-response approach allows for the analysis of the study data. However, this work presents a two stage approach to determining the best second stage study design for this situation. Two optimality criterion will be introduced which are unique to this problem: Minimum Bench Mark Dose Tolerable Region (BMDTR) area variance and Minimum BMDTR mixture ray variance. We present both a simulated dataset and a real dataset and use each of the above criteria to suggest augmented optimal designs for the second stage.
