Abstract:

This article deals with the problem of estimating two shape parameters and reliability function of Burr type XII distribution, on the basis of a general progressive type II censored sample using Bayesian viewpoints. An approximation form due to Lindley (1980) is used for obtaining the Bayes estimates under the squared error loss and linex loss functions. The root mean square errors of the estimates are computed. Comparisons are made between these estimators and the maximum likelihood ones using Monte Carlo simulation study.
