Abstract:
|
This work develops methods for diagnosing population pharmacokinetic (Pop PK) models by visualizing re-sampling statistics. Pop PK modeling targets the dose-concentration effect of drugs. Its application has grown in this decade because it can deal with large number of patients, sparse sampling strategy, and unbalanced design. Re-sampling statistics is one of the main approaches to validate these models. In this work, we adapt visual methods from multivariate analysis, heatmaps and parallel coordinate plots, to exam one re-sampling statistics. Multiple models are fit, parameter estimates and fit diagnostics are then extracted and visualized. With careful scaling of the statistics dependencies between them can be examined and single patient fits can be understood. This work is implemented in the R package: PKgraph.
