We have derived a two parameter Generalized Double Exponential Distribution which is the generalization of a couple of distributions such as Normal, Lognormal, Gamma, Rayleigh, Laplace, etc. Estimation of unknown parameter along with some characteristics as well as the sampling properties of the median of the same are aslo provided.
