Abstract:

We conducted Genome-Wide Association Study of lipid-related traits such as Total cholesterol, High density lipoprotein cholesterol, Low density lipoprotein cholesterol and Triglycerides with 327,872 SNP markers to identify genotype-phenotype association for Korean population. Our study included 8800 participants from recruitment areas: Ansan and Ansung which are urban and rural areas in Korea, respectively. We first performed separate analysis for each recruitment areas and then performed combined analysis. We showed a simple addition of area into the regression model is not enough for adjustment. We discussed several methods for combined analysis and compare their pros and cons.
