Abstract:
|
In this talk, we first investigate the validity of commonly used variogram functions on the sphere. Then, a nonparametric method to estimate the variogram on the sphere is proposed. We apply our method to Microwave Sounding Unit (MSU) data. In addition, the range and sill estimation is discussed.
