Abstract:

In this talk we consider the analysis of diffusion tensor imaging DTI tractography data. While development of advanced tractrography algorithms has been a major effort in the neuroimaging community, methods for quantitative population level analysis of tractography output are lagging behind. In this work, we focus on major white matter tracts as estimated by DTI (corticospinal, optic nerve, optic radiation and corpus callosum), their quantification and population level analysis. We propose novel geometric decompositions of the tracts to obtain feature vectors. We then analyze these feature vectors using tools such as functional principal components analysis.
