Abstract:

We propose a unified Bayesian approach to assess the reliability of multi-component complex systems. This model allows to consistently take advantage of all available diverse information at all levels without any approximation. Data can arise at all nodes including components, sub-systems, and systems in the forms of Binomial pass/fail data, lifetime data (censored data included), degradation data, and possibly others, or a combination of different types. We illustrate the methodology through analyzing a prototype complex system. We further discuss on how to extend the approach to more complex systems.
