Abstract:

In the recent past, there was a realization that nonregular FFDs could be utilized in conducting efficient experiments with exibility, run size economy and ability to exploit interactions. This led to a growing research on developing a general construction methodology of nonregular FFDs with good properties. Recent work by Xu and Wong (2007) and Phoa and Xu (2009) suggested a new class of nonregular FFDs constructed via quaternary codes (QC). This talk presents some recent developments of QC designs. It includes the construction methodology, design structure, design properties and design optimization of QC designs. A comparison between QC designs and regular FFDs, which are commonly used in industries and scientific researches nowadays, shows that the properties of QC designs are at least equivalent to, or otherwise better than, regular FFDs of the same size.
