Abstract:

Suppose an experiment is performed on N subjects to examine potential differences between c different treatments. Based on practical considerations, the investigation consists of two or more design protocols. For example, n of the subjects are administered all c treatment regimes and the remaining N-n subjects are administered exactly k of the c treatments, where k < c. Furthermore, suppose the usual distributional assumptions are not met, so a nonparametric analysis is desired. In this paper we consider a nonparametric method to test for differences between treatment effects by combining the data from the complete block and incomplete block designs. Properties and the applications of the test statistics are investigated.
