Abstract

Many Statistical research institutions, possibly but not always related to a university, provide statistical consultancy services with third parties including pharmaceutical companies. The latter, in this case, often have a strong need for very specific expertise applied to clinical trials. Our experience, however, is that many of the more concrete collaborations bear potential for further research and it would be very interesting if those new ideas could be further explored. The idea of cross pharma initiatives is to bring together financial recourses from several pharmaceutical companies in order to create a financial frame within which research activities can be conducted outside the strict regulations of a specific clinical trial.
