Abstract:

Applied statisticians are a fundamental constituency of ASA. A number of ASA services, resources, and awards are oriented toward the career needs and recognition of applied statisticians. For the purposes of this poster, we are defining an applied statistician as a person whose major career contributions involve the use of statistics in another field, rather than the development of statistical theory and methods. This poster documents the ASA awards given to applied statisticians as well as the resources and services that ASA makes available to applied statisticians, with a particular focus on 2000-2009.
