Abstract:

In Medical device trials, a multivariate regression modeling is commonly used to identify the potential prognostic factors for major clinical event. However, many continuous predictor variables are rarely nicely distributed and complex interactions may exist in the data. The regression coefficient might not be preferred by clinicians to interpret results. This presentation introduces the use of Classification and Regression Tree Analysis (CART) to improve multivariate predictor analysis. A case study is performed to demonstrate the approach.
