Abstract:

Spatiotemporal analysis of natural attributes like solar radiation and wind fields is a key to modeling the availability and distribution of these resources in composite space-time dependency domains. Statistics can cope effectively with naturally occurring uncertainty in such analyses with recent and on-going innovations in advanced stochastic methodologies. This session aims to provoke a stimulating discussion to (i) explore how different related research methodologies can benefit the on-going work in the many aspects of the renewables research field, and (ii) create bridges among the interested audience in the academia and the industry alike to enhance the communication of needs and results in a world of an emerging transition in energy sources.
