Abstract:

In this paper, a hierarchical logistic linear mixed model is proposed to estimate spatial effects and Quality of Life levels for breast cancer survivors in Missouri. The Discrete Hazard Rate is proposed to simplify the sampling process. A conditional auto-regressive (CAR) prior is used to capture the spatial effects. The neighboring subareas effects are decided by counties the subjects belong to. The computation is done by Gibbs Sampling. To improve convergence, an interweaving strategy of two parametrization, the centered parametrization (CP) and the non-centered parametrization (NCP), is used and compared with the standard Gibbs Sampling.
