Abstract:

Most academic biostatisticians in the United States receive funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This panel will discuss issues of obtaining NIH funding, with an emphasis on methodological research in biostatistics and grants for training the next generation of biostatistics researchers. There will also be discussion of review, particularly at the Biostatistical Methods and Research Design (BMRD) study section, and the decision-making process at NIH.
