Abstract:

Researchers are continuously searching for alternatives to complicated and invasive procedures as radical prostatectomy in diagnosing prostate cancer. One such procedure involves taking needle core biopsies from certain sections of the prostate gland. Here, we study different concordance measures to examine the relationship between biopsy and prostatectomy readings in order to determine if the former procedure is a good alternative to the latter. This work is funded by the Northwestern University Prostate SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence), Grant P50 CA 090386.
