Abstract:

The development of statistical methods for analyzing data collected from two-phase sampling has been an active research area. Recently, the two-phase design has also been adopted for genetic association studies for identifying genetic risk factors and gene-environment interactions. Frequently, prior knowledge can be assumed for the joint distribution of genetic and environmental risk factors in the study population, such as Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium and independence between genetic risk factors and a subset of environmental variables. It is interesting to study statistical methods for exploiting these prior information to increase efficiency for analyzing two-phase studies. We will present some of our recent work in this area.
