The talk will offer a description of "the macroscope," a new instrument of knowledge whose definition is: large amounts of data gathered by many people who are not necessarily doing any formal coordination of their work, plus computer assisted analysis. The history of his concept will be outlined, and some new applications in the field of personal self-tracking will be described.
