Abstract:

Statistics Educaiton is a relatively new discipline and one that is just beginning to be the focus of graduate student training and development of faculty researchers. This session will describe and examine issues related to graduate programs in statistics educaiton that prepare fcuture faculty in Statistics Educaiton, the movement of graduates of these programs to appropraite faculty positions, and ways to help these faculty establish successful careers in Statistics Education. Five panelists will share their experiences as well as offer advice to graduate students or faculty members interested in this topic. This panel builds on a current initiative supported by ASA to encourage and support graduate programs in statistics education.
