Abstract:

Researchers are often with confronting risk assessments when there is more than one outcome variable. Several approaches have been proposed utilizing indexes, scores or multiobjective optimization. In many cases these approaches work well to assess risk. However, in other cases these approaches produce less than desirable results. This session prospectively considers areas of research that need to be explored to appropriately assess risk. These will be presented from power grid and environmental risk perspectives.
