Abstract:

The Department of Statistics at Iowa State University and the Statistical Sciences Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory have had a long-time collaborative relationship, that was supported by a NSF Research Training Group grant and the Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program. It was also formally recognized with the 2009 SPAIG award. This talk will outline some of the history of how this relationship originated and developed to involved many ISU faculty and graduate students as well as LANL scientists. In addition some of the recent research areas from this collaboration will be described with their applications to national defense.
