Abstract:

This talk is based on the following papers:

J. Møller and K. Helisova (2008). Power diagrams and interaction processes for unions of discs. Advances in Applied Probility, 40, 321-347.

J. Møller and K. Helisova (2009). Likelihood inference for unions of interacting discs. Scandinavian Journal of Statistics, to appear.

The first paper studies a flexible class of finite disc process models with interaction between the discs. The second paper is to the best of my knowledge, the first paper which discusses likelihood inference for a random set using a germ-grain model, where the individual grains are unobservable, edge effects occur, and other complications appear.
