Abstract:

In many areas of application, observations are referenced in space and time, but designed experiments are very difficult to implement. Two areas in particular involve studies in ecology and/or public health where individuals, covariates, and outcomes are observed across large geographic areas. In some cases, sampling methods provide insight into population trends, in others observations accrue through other mechanisms. In this roundtable, we welcome discussion regarding data collection, management, analysis, and display for spatio-temporally referenced observations in such studies, with particular emphasis on linking data from multiple sources and methods to address apparent incompatibilities.
