Abstract:
|
[B]igmemory is an R package designed to efficiently manage large data sets in the R programming environment. The functionality of this package has recently expanded to allow a user to analyze data sets much bigger than the amount of available RAM on his machine. The Airline Data provides an opportunity to showcase the new functionality of the bigmemory package. bigmemory is designed so that even beginning to intermediate R users should have little trouble loading and processing massive data sets. The poster presentation will answer some of the questions posed by the Data Expo challenge, while highlighting the fact that those who are already familiar with R very little time to become proficient with bigmemory.
