Title: The Kernel Reweighting Bootstrap for Spatial Processes
Author(s): Kristofer Jennings*+

Address: Department of Statistics, West Lafayette, IN, 47901,
Keywords: bootstrap ; spatial statistics ; tapering
Abstract:

The kernel reweighting bootstrap is an extension of the tapered block bootstrap, as applied to time series analysis. In this talk, we will demonstrate a formulation of the kernel reweighting bootstrap for spatial processes, operating with the same asymptotic validity as the usual block bootstrap. The enhanced efficiency gained using a smooth kernel will be developed, along with simulation results demonstrating improved performance. Additional issues such as bandwidth choice and application to irregularly spaced data will also be discussed.
