Abstract:

If you are using R on either Windows, Mac OS, or Linux (or Unix) platforms and want to find a way to speed up computational time (image finishing within one day instead of one month) and/or to process large data sets at a time, you come to the right place. This roundtable discusses how to use parallel computing with R to archive many objectives. Topics include but are not limited to: Why do we need parallel computing? Existing parallel computing packages for R. How do we set up a proper parallel computing environment? Is parallel computing programming too hard for me?
