Abstract:
|
Cricket was one of the first sports to use statistics as a tool for illustration and comparison. However, compared to sports like baseball, there has not been much statistical modeling work done for cricket. In this poster, authors will present a brief review of statistical work that has been done with some suggestions for future directions. In particular, analysis of the factors affecting the outcome of the game and the methods for revising target of the matches shortened due to weather interruptions will be key interests in our discussion. This poster will expose the resources and opportunities available with cricket data for the statisticians.
