Abstract:
|
Recent updates of Hanson's C++-based Estimation Toolkit for Item Response Theory Modeling (ETIRM) and its support libraries UNCMIN++ and SCPPNT are available as Open source statistical/psychometric software, and can be downloaded from smallwaters.com. The paper outlines the functions and software architecture of ETIRM and its support libraries, and shows how to incorporate ETIRM into application software. ETIRM is a library of C++ object templates for estimating parameters of dichotomous and polytomous IRT models, including marginal Bayes or marginal maximum likelihood estimation, using the EM algorithm for both single and multiple population models. An architecture for bootstrap estimation is included. ETIRM has been released as open source and may be copied and modified; it may also be incorporated into other software.
