Abstract:

Ontogenetic growth and phenotypic plasticity has been attracting lots of attention recently for their importance in developmental features for every living organism. In this article, we devise a statistical method for mapping QTL affecting a complex shape trait by incorporating all possible QTL-marker linkage phases within a mapping framework. The advantage of this model is the estimation of the expectation shape which has very high dimension. These estimates are obtained through maximum-likelihood methods implemented with the EM algorithm.
