Abstract:
|
Huygens (1673) first coined the term synchronization to describe the coupling between dynamics processes. Since that time numerous examples of synchronization in biological and engineering systems have been noted. Some examples include the phase coupling in humans that exists between the cardiac and respiratory systems, the biological clock synchronization of day and night rhythm patterns and neuron stimulation within the nervous system. Such dynamic coupling can lead to the development of highly self organized networks. One of the underlying goals of the present research is to examine chaotically related processes and to investigate systematically their response to an array of different distributional noise structures (normal, uniform and extreme value). Quantitative statistical measures are developed for estimating the stabilization of various self organized cluster patterns.
