Abstract:
|
The Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) opened on March 12, 2001. The SCC is a free service, providing statistical advice and assistance with projects that are for research or instructional purposes. Our clientele include undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff at GVSU and local non-profit organizations. The SCC currently has a director who supervises both graduate and undergraduate students. One of the goals of the Center is to provide an educational experience for statistics students by involving them in the operations of the Center. This talk will discuss the roles of the SCC and the many ways it is used to help students obtain experience in statistical consulting.
