Abstract:

The U.S. Census Bureau's seasonal adjustment program X-12-ARIMA can be difficult for new users to learn to run. Win X-12 is an interface program designed to help users run X-12-ARIMA. It can create the necessary input files customized to a user's data, run X-12-ARIMA, and display the output files produced. It also produces tables summarizing model information and diagnostics, saves adjustment results in HTML format, and displays graphs of the series, the seasonal adjustment, and various diagnostics. For more customized graphs of the series' components and diagnostics, the program X-12-Graph is available. Together, these two programs make running X-12-ARIMA and analyzing the results a more user-friendly experience.
