Abstract:

There is a wealth of data that may be used to forecast short term automobile sales on a daily basis. The data is used here to forecast the future short term automobile sales on a daily basis. The data utilized in this study includes: gasoline prices, stock market indices, internet hits on specific websites, automobile industry incentives, client automobile sales and various calendar effects. The important predictors depend upon the specific automobile model. Various historic time lags are also relevant and depend upon the specific automobile model.
