Abstract:

For someone with a master's degree in statistics related area and relevant SAS knowledge, opportunities to start a career in statistical programming are plenty. The combination of statistics and basic SAS skill creates an ideal candidate for SAS Data Analyst in the pharmaceutical industry. With the exposure from data collection to report completion in clinical trials, technical and managerial paths include: lead programmer in data extraction/building, cleaning, submission, and presentation; manager of these corresponding disciplines; statistician; statistical team leader; project team leader; section head of data programming or statistical programming; director of SAS programming, statistics, or data management; project manager; business development; and operations/process improvement. With experience, knowledge, leadership, and management skill, there is no limit on where it can lead.
