Abstract:

Keeping up-to-date with statistical advances is an important part of a statisticians program. It is very hard to attend all the out-of-town seminars and programs that are offered. Web-based training programs offer an alternative to traveling to seminars and workshops by bringing the seminars and workshops to the home office. The Biopharm Section has conducted a series of web-based training programs over the last two years and has found a very positive reception to them. This talk will discuss how the concept was formed, the mechanics of offering web-based training programs, and the reaction of the participants. It will discuss on how to use this concept in conveying statistical concepts to non-statisticians and other groups of people.
