Abstract:

Many disciplines have a well-developed internship program for undergraduate students. Internship opportunities attract students to the profession by providing relevant "on the job" experience during the degree program and also by providing a means to pay for their education. This roundtable will discuss ways that industry and academia can partner to provide internship opportunities for undergraduate students who are majoring in statistics. We will discuss the course requirements and training that students must successfully complete based on feedback from industry leaders in order for the internship to be successful.
