Abstract:

Four examples of functional regression will be discussed: (1) scalar response with functional explanatory variable(s) with the response being the integral of the product of explanatory variable(s) and functional coefficient(s). (2) functional response with scalar explanatory variable(s) and functional coefficient(s). (3) functional response being the sum of functional explanatory variable(s) times concurrent functional coefficient(s). (4) functional response being an integral of a functional explanatory variable times a bivariate function coefficient kernel.
