Title: The Best of Both Worlds: Merging Ground and Online Pedagogy Into the Hybrid Course
Author(s): David Zeitler*+
Companies: Grand Valley State University
Address: Statistics Department, Allendale, MI, 49401,
Keywords: online pedagogy ; hybrid course ; GAISE ; technology pedagogy ; student engagement
Abstract:

This round table will provide what is likely to be a lively discussion of ideas that cross the divide between online instruction and traditional ground instruction. Hopefully we will have a mixture of educators interested in both online and traditional pedagogy. Questions for discussion will start with: How do we expand our engagement of students in a ground course by adding online components? Can we use ground based collaborative activities to bring GAISE motivated instruction to the online course? How can we use ideas from each to help improve the other? Should there be such as a thing as a pure online or ground course anymore?
