Abstract:

For the past 50 years statistics has been applied to broad spectrum of disciplines (e.g., economics, agriculture, the law, defense, and health and nutrition). The statistician therefore works with subject matter experts in analyzing data and in addressing issues related to the particular discipline. In this coffee round table session, statisticians will have an opportunity to discuss their experiences in interacting with subject matter experts. Similarities as well as difference in approaches applied in producing the finished products related to different disciplines will be considered. Application of statistics specific to a particular discipline as well as common threads can be noted.
